These impacts are concentrated in historically disinvested Black and Brown neighborhoods near major roadways, industrial corridors, and illegal dumping sites. Residents face disproportionate environmental health burdens, with higher rates of asthma, hypertension, and chronic disease, creating daily risk for illness and premature death.
Recycle & Reinvest exists to interrupt this cycle of harm. Through B.4.L and the Soil Soldiers program, we transform neighborhood-scale environmental burdens into opportunity by:
