EARTH DAY IN THE HOOD
Apr 18, 2026, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Nashville Public Library Pruitt Branch, 117 Charles E Davis Blvd, Nashville, TN 37210, USA
About the Event
Earth Day In The Hood – WEEKEND is a community-centered celebration rooted in environmental justice, creativity, and collective care. Now in its 3rd annual year, the experience has expanded into a full weekend of action, education, and cultural activation.
Saturday – Heal & Activate
The weekend begins with a Citywide Community Clean-Up led by partners across our network and B.4.L Generals. Together, we mobilize residents to restore public spaces, reduce waste, and demonstrate what collective stewardship looks like in real time.
Later that day, we gather at Pruitt Branch Library for a vibrant community celebration featuring:
Community resources and family engagement
Eco-art and hands-on creative activities
Youth Eco Hip - Hop Live performance
A sustainable thrift fashion showcase
This day centers the message that we do not own the Earth—we share it. Stewardship is not optional; it is a shared responsibility.
Sunday – Reflect & Reimagine
The weekend concludes with a private screening of our new documentary, B.4.L: The Environmental Justice Army, at Bordeaux Branch Library from 2PM–5PM.
Facilitated by Ether Co-op Collective, this closing experience creates space for reflection, dialogue, and deeper understanding of how hip-hop, environmental justice, and grassroots organizing intersect. The film highlights music as movement and activism as culture—documenting the voices and vision shaping the next generation of environmental leadership.
Earth Day In The Hood Weekend is more than an event.
It is a model for neighborhood-led sustainability, youth empowerment, and cultural resistance grounded in care for land and community.
